One of the biggest industrialist of the state Nimmagadda Prasad was arrested today in the Jagan illegal assets case. Prasad who made his fortune with the pharma company Matrix laboratories is also the key person in the controversial Vanpic infrastructure project.
It is alleged that Prasad made an investment of Rs.504 crores in Jagan’s companies and got over 10,000 acres of land and other expemptions and resources in return for these investments. Prasad made Rs 244 Crore investment in Bharati cememnts and 20 Crores in Carmel Asia along with Rs 100 crores in Jagan’s media companies.
With these arrest there is again intense speculation that the next arrest would be that of YS Jagan. The arrest has also pushed other industrialists involved in the Jagan assets case into a state of panic. Prasad has been questioned a number of times till now by the CBI but until today there was no indication that his arrest was imminent. It is also clear that the CBI is now moving in a very strategic manner in Jagan’s case.
