YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP, Y S Jaganmohan Mohan Reddy sought the blessings of Lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Tirupati today. He, however, didn’t sign the formal declaration form about his faith in the deity before entering the temple and this has stirred up a new controversy.
Any non-Hindu VIP visiting the temple has to sign the declaration form, as per the temple rules. Even Sonia Gandhi has signed this form when she visited the temple last time. Jagan being a Christian, he was supposed to give the declaration. But, the TTD officials negligence made him skip the process.
Notably, Jagan along with TTD former chairman Karunakara Reddy and 6- other followers entered the temple and had a glimpse of the deity in VIP queue line. Reportedly, TTD officials are now worried that they skipped the process. The sources close to TTD said at least the former TTD chairman who accompanied Jagan would have reminded us of the rule since he was aware of all rules at the temple.
On the other hand, the followers of Jagan raised slogans in support of their leader in the temple. This act had hurt the sentiments of devotees in temple and they eventually obstructed the group from hailing Jagan in the temple.
