Now the discussion in UPA is regarding capital of AP.Before
there is a buzz that Gannavaram is going to be the capital of AP.In Gannavaram
it is tough even to expand the airport.There are no sufficient lands in
Gannavaram to construct Government buildings.So, Gannavaram is not going to be
the capital of AP.Many of the towns are in race of Capital.They are Vizag,Rajamundry,
Guntur , Prakasam, Vijayawada and Tirupati.As Vizag is very far from Chittor
district it is excluded from the list.Vijayawada has no sufficient land for
expansion.So,Vijayawada is also deleted.Coming for Rajamundry and Guntur, there
are no government lands.If it is declared as capital then government has to buy
private lands which incurs a lot of cost.For this reason Guntur and Rajamundy
are been excluded from the list.If we consider Tirupati, it is a pilgrimage
centre and of course a terrorist prone
area.So Tirupati can’t be a capital.Now we are remaining with Prakasam
district.There are many more chances to make Ongole in Prakasam district as a
capital of Andhra.The reasons are Ongole will be in the middle, Ongole is near
to sea coast.One of the important reason is, there are about more than 13,000
acres of vanpic lands in Ongole.Also there are many more lands in the
surroundings of Ongole.It is very easy to expand Ongole.As a result Ongole has
a huge chance to become capital of Andhra.
